THE SUPERMARKET OF THE
SEVEN DEADLY SINS
I went shopping therein. In the supermarket
of the seven deadly sins. I found avarice
and greed, easily enough, alongside pride
and envy. The clerk in the next aisle told
me to stop handling the lust. 'It only leads
to another form of gluttony,' he said, quite
matter-of-factly, as if he knew. One row,
over, despair and wrath lurked. I told the
girl there I was seeking vainglory. She said,
smiling,' I think it's over there, by sloth.'
