12,713. LETTERS FOR LABOR LEADERS

LETTERS FOR
LABOR LEADERS
When you write, you will want to
be as inclusive as you can be. The
idea is always to drawing others
in. Alienate as few as possible.
Lead the reader into the directions
you seek; don't stray, and don't
be ambiguous. There should be
no digression from the intent of
your note. We don't care about
home and family.
-
When your task is to push for an
uncomfortable outcome, you must
goad, but not force. The people you
are writing for, and to, are often
the great unwashed, factors you
ought to keep in mind. Let them
be convinced THEY made their
decision and not you. When they
are finished it should all seem as
their OWN great idea. Strike, or
no strike. Pressing for higher
wages, or not. Incendiary? NO.
-
Do not be. At the same, you must
watch the 'top' as much as the bottom.
See: Jimmy Hoffa. Organize carefully,
trust only your prime advisors, make
as few errors as possible, and don't
drink with your rabble. Jimmy
Hoffa is NOT Jimi Hendrix, in
these cases I cite, let's say.
