12,718. IF I PLEAD

IF I PLEAD
If I plead with my head,
my hands they will lock.
If I plead with my hands,
so my head. Motionless,
I remain.
-
The man on Fairview, with
the cannon on his lawn, has
never spoken to me. Just
indirect waves, here and
there. It's OK that way.
-
Another person I saw one
day, was jogging with her
dog. In tandem, the two
were rolling nicely along.
I wondered to myself, 'How
far?' She was all done up
in her jogging-set togs.
-
I figured the clothing alone
for 175 bucks. Then they
somehow got mixed up and
tangled. Down she went, in
a heap of waving arms. The
dog, and the her. Together.
-
If I plead with my hands,
so my head....
