12,239. PASTEBOARD BLANDISHMENTS

PASTEBOARD
BLANDISHMENTS
Ladies sorting candy. Doctors taking
pulses. Nurses wiping swabs. What
differs and who sees? The parking
lot is filled with sick and ailing
citizens; they struggle blindly from
cars and  trucks : I see walkers and
health aides, sons and daughters, the
neighbor who took pity on old Mrs.
Brown. That's how it goes down and
there are new saints to pray to. Funny
how that works  -  the same dull joint
with the new and colorful 'Bingo' sign,
flashing lights and bright stupidity, has
no qualms about also being medieval
in its nascent wholeness. Now I believe
that Father Torquemada will make a
visit? Mother Theresa, I shall be healed?
