SACRAMENTO ABC
The air transfer sucked. The guy
next to me in this waiting room,
I could plainly overhear, had just
told the girl he was with that he
didn't know the layout of the
streets, but he knew where her
legs meet. She giggled a little
and said, 'Stop that, not here!'

I pretended hard at being deaf,
but then some old lady dropped
all her change near me, and I
immediately looked over, blowing
my cover, if anyone was watching.
I wouldn't be deaf if I'd heard that
raucous clamor.

It's like that; over time even the
best efforts and plans and intentions,
seem all to just fall apart. Quarters,
dimes, and nickels. Quarters,
dimes, and nickels again.
