12,200. CAVEAT

CAVEAT
Sometimes there's a rope around
my neck  -  a true rope and a true
neck too. If I step off this plank
I'll be done for for sure. Hey diddle
diddle, the cat and the fiddle, the
cow jumped over the moon. OK,
we'll let that go.
-
I've looked at Marc Chagall's version
of that any number of times and all it
ever made me want to do was go home.
If I had a hammer, I'd hammer in the
morning. I'd hammer in the evening.
All over this world.
-
Have you ever thought of that? I
wondered too? 12 hours day; 12
12 hours night. Pretty much anyway.
They're 'even'  -  is the where they from
got 'evening? Or was 'evening' just a
title noun itself for that particular
portion of the day?
