Maybe 1986, at like Tower Records, at B'way
and Fourth. That's where I met Joan Armatrading
once. She was, like anyone else, just standing in
line for check-out. It was during that period where
she was known for wearing some Ankh or cross;
around her neck, a large heavy piece, and it always
shown on her album covers.
-
She had it on that day too - buying Talking Heads.
-
No big deal; we exchanged 'Hi' and I asked how
she'd been doing; she said all was well. My friend,
with me, didn't know who she was.
