WISE
O-O-Of course the fox was
wise; or is that sly?....Someone
was saying that softy in the
candlelight at night. Along the
walls the formidable, aching
shadows clung to light like eyes
to an unknown sight. The wet
wind howled through concrete
passages. Someone else had
brought us tea (all too dark, all
too dark to see). The red drone
of fear had preceded the day;
night all alone, far away. O-O-of
course the fox was wise again.
