I am forgiven? But what did I
ever do? I hope it brought me,
pleasure and was something I
looked forward to.

If it was merely some singsong
birdie's melody, it had probably
gotten more pleasure than me :
at the crack of a ruler on a young
schoolboy's hand; at the glance to
that lovely girl up on the stand.

So gracious is every moment on
this flying Earth. If I'm forgiven
for taking that pleasure, what can
that be worth?
