AS THE WIND
As the Winter wind howls all through
this night, I sit by myself to ponder.
my plight? The fireplace dawns with
the idea of warmth, and I can tell by
the flame all is right with that work.
Forms on the wall from the fire dance.

The temperature, of course, drops
accordingly, and that wind howls
some more. It's to zero, we're told,
and even that's OK now. Every two
hours I go check that the water still
flows - we have occasional problems
with a few pipes prone to freezing. As
long as water runs, I know things are
easing. My plight's not so miserable
then, though the wind still howls,
from Rickets to Glen. Two local
places we think about when.....
