GOES WITHOUT SAYING?
An ever-curious phrase that, 'it goes
without saying' - like neither here
nor there? I could never land precisely
on its meaning. When one switches on
the light switch, it 'goes without saying'
that there will be light? Perhaps we just
take too much granted.
