THE CASEWORKERS
Bureaucrats tend to alleviate
the pain they think they see.
Checkboards and boxes, please
fill this out (for the umpteenth
time). I was watching one
today.
-
If their world runs by mere
formula, what is it they do
actually see? Need I wonder?
It's not me.
-
I sense another time and place,
far from them, and they do not
understand me. Outside of only
riddles, they understand nothing
of my world. Capricious and
whimsical as it is.
-
Fitting no categories, I let them
stew. They stare at their phones,
and drink their lousy drinks, while
I wander away oblivious to any
of the reality they may think.
Life is another matter to me.
