THE LOWER BOA BASIN
It's an unheard of place where the
crocodiles stay mean forever. They
charge ten bucks a bite. Money like
that changes hands a hundred times
a day - gamblers, whores, showgirls,
and mobsters. They all mix it up.
-
The Columbians come up selling guns.
Brazilian underworld types mingle with
the more settled crowd, drinking high-up
cocktails no one's ever heard of before.
The wind tears the covers off the boats.
-
It got called Lower Boa a long time
back. I never found out why, nor what
it meant. It referred to something, I
suppose. With a clientele like that,
it simply had to have a meaning.
