THE BUYERS OF JEWISH FOODS
From East Broadway and Clinton and
Delancey Streets, they lined up in a
row; hundreds of small heads mingling.
Delicate items, pastries and pickles.
Hamantaschen, was it, I forget?
-
I never saw a determined crowd that
wasn't on its mission to somewhere,
and this one was to God. Promises
of ancient vintage made to be kept.
