XERXES THE MACHINE
Every where I go there is an
arrow in my head - a pointed
feeling, a brain dagger for sure.
I sit and eat buttered bread, something
that goes maybe with coffee. How
do I know these things? What do I
feel? Xerxes failed, invading Greece.
In James Joyce, Molly Bloom, being
wooed by Leopold, said, 'As well him
as another.' Couldn't she just have
easily said, 'As well another as him.'
These things rank as the mysteries of
the ages; all this talk and rubbish.
Xerxes failed, invading Greece.
