10,160. ROMEO HAS A TANGLE

ROMEO HAS A TANGLE
In the deep green park the roads are
angled, harsh dips go down the hills.
Far over the top, there's a remnant of
a small cemetery from about 1804,
when a cottage-church graced then
the hillside. That's all gone now, but
a few rubric stones remain. The rest,
as you look out, is 1970's suburban
tract housing, of the worst sort, about
12 homes, 'bi-level' or 'split-level' or
whatever that term is. The usual cars
and things around the yards. There
really ought to be a law.
-
What does a man do, anyway? Fence
himself in or fence himself out? We can
file away accumulated goods, but we
can never escape the ending procession.
