SALUTE ARMS
There are three angels on the backboard and the
backstop too - baseball guys and divine beings,
separate but equal in their playful way. Don't get
hit by that fastball or curve or slider. My friend went
down once, never got up - this God hurler fellow
has one wicked arm. Wind-up and follow-through?
You can see it for yourself; I've never seen him tire,
and anyway, the relief pitching around here sucks.
Duck and cover, like the old days had it -
that works here out on this field too.
