5466. I DON'T KNOW

I DON'T KNOW
So many times this dirigible has crash landed,
with a bang and some flames, but still crashed
and burned. Survivors? Just one, it seems like
me. And here I go again. I don't know,
-
It is said that earliest man painted images in
those caves in Lascaux  -  no one knows why
or even how. They claim not to know, and then
just blithely make conjecture about this or that.
it's all wrong. I do know.

-
Like man giving names to all the animals  -  as the
Bible story puts it  -  the consciousness of being
present at one's own creation demands a nomenclature
and a recognition. Scientific or not, but not quite.
They didn't have that then. This was man's first attempt
at cutting through the smoke of the mystery of where
he was. As if having landed, in a strange place, from
somewhere else; like coming out of a dream, slowly,
the objects arrayed before him had to be studied and
thought of. Illustrated, let us say, by mind.
-
There are always dimensional walls  -  we ourselves hit
them all the time  -  between the world we 'inhabit' and
the world we are concurrently making. They run into each
other, leak and bleed through, causing confusion sometimes,
and consternation too. We try to understand, we try to
break through, but our own illustrations, can't you see,
have been taken over, co-opted, stolen from us, by the
powers that be. We simply have to take them back.

It reminds me of the pineal gland.
