MAGNIFICENCE
The underwater cable ran from Sleepy Hollow
to somewhere : Washington Irving would know.
All those luckless horseman and that cove in
the slowly-winding river. A peaceful oasis, deemed
surely. Coming down from the grassy ridge, 'midst
boulders and rocks of the palisades, I spied a landsman
fishing as he talked to himself. Approaching him, I asked what
was the source of his chatter : he laughed, and said 'aren't
you the Mad Hatter, the guy with the loom, the headless
definer, the Merchant of Doom?' I had to say 'No.' Yes,
sometimes the truth is too painful to speak,
sometimes the truth is too painful.
