HANNIBAL CROSSED
THE ALPS
Just as Hannibal crossed the Alps (time),
the end of his world was near : the Pharaohs
were gone, and all their wives and women,
the fires of Rome were nearly over, and no
one knew the sense of anything at all - this
was, of course, before the maidenhead
broke : no electricity, no contact, no smokes.

Just as Hannibal crossed the Alps (manner),
I will climb the nearest high hill, I will smote
my foes, I will tax my minions with labor
and strife. These are simply all things
of this world - we need to live with
them, for we cannot live without.
