IN GRATITUDE TO THE
NATIONAL BANKS
Grass grows and the old weeds
seed. Everything gives back; take
heed. We live these lives in small
circles, handing things to one
another, always back and forth.
In gratitude, as it were, to the
national banks : the places that
give out money to build the houses
and factories and buildings and,
thanks to that too, keep all things
running on such an even keel.
Don't know where we'd be today
without those banks and savings
& loans. Every town should keep
mindful of that; even as they
groan.
