I'VE GROWN WEARY
No different than Ranier Marie Rilke,
I'd say. Gerard Manly Hopkins? No way.
Even though a friend used to say I was
that all over : I always disagreed and
hated to be told. I've grown weary,
and too tired any more to be bold.

the centerpiece base, in a small vase.
It looks really nice. Yes, it looks really
nice, but as people eat will they be
able to talk to one another across the
table if the violets get in the way?
The way violets do? Can people
talk through, as people often do?
