RIGHT AWAY WITH
THE PIANO
Left hand nothing. Play too loud, or not. Right
away with the piano, everybody wants a song -
play this or that, but they don't get along. They want
the lead line of every tune they've heard, but that was
only a vocal and they can't understand. The piano's never
a lead in any crap like that. Listen carefully, you Shirley,
all the keys are doing is accenting something, one way or
the other. I can't but play the way I play : longtime soulful
dirge, ending in indeterminate long riffs. All of mine. Thanks.
