6685. I HATE RIVER PEOPLE AND AM DETERMINED NOT TO DIE

I HATE RIVER PEOPLE
AND AM DETERMINED
NOT TO DIE
I wished for that to be my epitaph, except that I am
not dead yet, and  -  as it says  -  am determined
not to die. Which entire idea would confuse the
words if used as an epitaph. (This fine water is
jiggling in my glass  - someone has juggled the
table and moved on). The other word  -  also of
some confusion  -  is 'epithet', which is, by a contrast
of sorts, something crummy  that is said about another.
I think anyway  -  but it all gets confusing and those
two words are too much alike. Not far enough apart.
meanings collide, get mixed. I want distance. (Speaking
of distance, the same stupid guy has just jostled this
table again and now the water has splattered some.
What would I do to him? I could call him out with
an epithet; or, of course, I guess I could slay him,
like some crazed Grecian warrior, and give him
then a really good epitaph).
