COMING IN
This might not be the landing that I wanted,
but I'm coming in anyway - that stalwart boss,
my heart, has taken now to ruling these landing
lanes. What can I do but bellyache to friends?
-
And to realize I have nothing left? There's the
grimace I've been waiting for - the smirk and
the grin as each one walked away. Once I had
a fortune, now I have none. One was I
placated, now I have to run.
-
Here it is, an evening again; the blue starlight
shimmers, just beginning the faults of night.
I want to look up, but all this living with a
broken neck has now really taken its toll.
