5591. AS MAD AS ALL THAT

AS MAD AS ALL THAT
Oh no, not again. In the common room the TV was on.
They were watching some monkeys cavort. One held a
pearl handled device for restriction and another was holding
its tongue. Better diction was only a mile away. I myself
had just come in from midtown. Next to me, from Wayne,
Wayne, NJ, was a girl who was crying on the train  -  she
was artfully working two phones at one time and wailing
in both. This is truth. I didn't get her name
-
The trading desk near where she worked had a lost an
Amsterdam trader, 'only 29!' in that bombed out jet above
Ukraine. He'd died with some unfinished business. He had
just been in New York City the month before, and she'd
worked right next to him! On one of the phones she was
talking to John Betz, saying 'ABC News called; they want
to talk to you.' And then she began crying once more.
