YES, YOU COULD
Yes you could chase the checker-book
for nothing at all and all it would bring
you is nothing. It's just too simple to be
dumb. Here's the world everyone wanted.

In the forest I heard a creature. Or
maybe just crumpling leaves. It's
funny, in such cathedral-like settings,
how the ears play tricks, or the mind.

The normal ways of tracing sound
are gone, and the tall trees somehow
protect the space in other ways. One
wishes to think big, really big, and
expansive. Take in all the world, and
the world around you too.

Instead, I just sat on a log in my silence
to think. Adventures all over, events
running down. The quiet enveloped
me, without a sound.
