4839. PSALM 53

PSALM 53
The walking dead man speaks thus:
'There is no God.'
-
Ravaging and abominating themselves
and others  -  they bring sorrow wherever
they go. No one works for the good of Thee.
-
The Holy One looks down  -  searching
for his persons of understanding those
seeking out Divine Truth.
-
They too have turned away, grown
foul and rotten with stench  -
not even one seeks goodness.
-
Don't you know, evildoers, you who
eat other people and savor their beings
like bread of your own  -  you who
never call out to your God  -  that you
will meet your end, whenever it may be  -
gripped with fear, shaking from within when
no terror exists. Your body your last venom.
-
God has already scattered the bones of those
like you. You will be filled with shame and you
will be refused at the fountain of a newer life.
-
So what's it going to be, fine landsman, ye  -
will you seek joy, or captivity?
