UNDERNEATH THE CITADEL
'No need to be involved with every little thing.
Let things run their course without your input.
We have ways to make you reconsider, but
we never want to use them.' Everything here
was so much like warden-talk, or some of
that homily stuff in those mental-health
books. I just sat back and stayed out.
-
I noticed yet another hovering helicopter.
That seems to happen a lot around here,
but all they ever tell you is that a Medi-vac
copter was in place, above some brutal
crash on the Parkway, or Turnpike, down
below. You see, we have so many roadways
that converge in this locale that it's a wonder
there's not a crash every ten minutes. And
for all I know maybe there is.
-
I try to look only for the calm things, but
mostly they've all disappeared. Even the
woods now, behind Centric Clutch and
the old Hess Building, now 'Onyx' (some
killer corporation that plans these things),
are gone and the ground's a clear as a
baby's backside. New plans for new crap.
-
All over again. And man, I hate it so.
