5801. MANUFACTURED GLASS

MANUFACTURED GLASS
And so brittle that the thumper would break;
shatter the million pieces into a million more,
infringing upon our lives centered here on but
one reality with some fifteen thousand more  -
and, you know, they are all happening at once.
So, watch out. your goodness only goes so far.
-
This miserable sandbox I eat sandwiches in, oh
not so bad : the dirt and the gruel together mix,
making an ease of digestion only better by roughage
or fiber, any of those things the textbooks say.
-
Here on the beach, I am grounded : like ground glass,
like the elements of sand which make the glass;
transparent illusion, rippling sheet, something to
view while viewing through. Like the middle ages,
some leaded, colored glass, a view at a saint,
kneeling in nothing, and bathed in some vast
yet ephemeral eternal light.
