I HAVE AN ALLIANCE
There is yet a music playing in the alleyway; some
thirty-year old tune of a waltzing blend. I spear the
violin with my tentacled eyes, trying to grab at what
I hear. Can I never be left alone, even here? In the
long reach of things, am I still set out to be disturbed
by the pattern of things I don't want? Have I asked
for this encumbered alliance? Exchanged words?
-
My heart - I think sometimes - is an old Wurlitzer
set to full volume : rabid tunes, transcendent music,
old chords, and scales, playing backwards in a warp
of citified time. Break my moment's concentration,
will you? I woke up today in the rain.
