5254. NEVER HAVE MINDED

NEVER HAVE MINDED
I would never had minded so much if it all
wasn't so frankly boring : a sixth-grade domicile
in some Hell of explanation, school years tossed
like paper-wrappers from the window of a car.
College years spent dawdling between sensations,
the idea of diplomacy, legality, and where to dwell.
Rules were made to be broken. That's pretty much
the extent. Give me a woman, anytime, over that.

The game of dominoes was played in the head : wise-men,
they sit back and play their chess instead. I never played
anything like that  -  and hated those who did. card-games
and games of chance, slot-machines in the cellar walls
od dungeons filled with dragons. Watch this guy, now,
look : he's pulling up in a five-year-old Benz, sidling
to the wall to park protected. He exits his car with
the shape of a lamb and the apomlp of a dictator.
Oh man, I'm so weirdly impressed. Banking and
securities. Five-year notes and best returns.
How come eternity smells like cheese?
