THIRD MORNING'S FROST
In trying to keep out the cold
there are so many other items
to watch for : the seam along the
window's edge, like a barrier that
refuses warmth, there's ice in each
small crevice; the curlicue break
in the bedrooms glass. Just more
for another loss of warmth. So I
just sit here watching - the sentinel
who catches the errant breeze and
entreats it to return whence it came.
