SEDIMENTARY VALUES
Up in the sky, the birds fly, while
I am trying to tie my shoes. My
foot is up on a chair-arm, since
it's hard for me to make the bend.
I've been tying shoes since I was
six, I'd bet, but I have never flown
like the birds fly. Of course, they've
never tied a shoe.
-
I don't know what that tells me,
but life has its all-different angles
so it must mean something. Birds
don't 'talk, so I guess, as well,
they never get 'tongue-tied.'
-
Everywhere I go, there's something
to comment on. Or think about. In
any case, I love the people I see. I
scare myself by that. My arms are
baleful hope chests, each trying to
join in an embrace of something.
