SADNESS CAN BE A POSE?
Apparently I am writing in English,
but it all looks strange to me. Some
say sadness is banal.

William James said there is acute
religion and chronic religion. Now
we turn to sadness:

'Fine sadness; coarse sadness; hard
sadness; easy sadness; quickening
sadness and stupefying sadness.'

My fine friends, it is not an adornment,
nor a pose nor a dress nor a simple one
moment. It is all these things together,
-
hurting. The ring-coil is like the very
raiment that an angel wears. Entrapment.
Maybe sadness is that.
