WHEN I THINK OF
THE PEACEFUL OASIS
I've always had trouble believing that
dinosaurs once roamed the Earth; land
too large for even the largest. I've maybe
seen the footprints and the recreations
they purport to have been - the Tar Pits
at La Brea and all the rest. Right in the
middle of old L.A.? And how bizarre is
that? Over at Princeton, the University
has the Guyot Building, with all those
models and bones. So, maybe so, but
I never trust the definitions.

I'd rather believe in Eden; that peaceful
land where feathers stayed afloat and
all sounds were nice and just floated.
The rest is just ruination and wreckage,
and us. Us. The ones who never walked
with the dinosaurs?
