BRING OUT SOMETHING,
THEN TAKE IT AWAY
My nodding acquaintance with
everything amounts to nothing.
I can't make the airplane fly, as
I can't bring forth the rain. It's
all the same. So here I sit, as a
once squandered youth beholding
a squandered life. Looking at
nothing so much as regrets.

I went to the doctor's parking
lot, only to see how many cars
were left. It makes a difference
to my anxieties. Before I walked
in, I genuflected too. It makes a
difference to my propensities. To
any one man better than me, I
grovel. Father, take this cup.
