WHAT WORKS ONCE,
WORKS TWICE
It's almost criminal in its intent, how
what works once works just as well
a second time: Cracking the safe or
jilting the door. No one arrives, and
the alarm stays mute.
-
It's all allegory, symbolism, parable,
whichever the big names call it. Like
Thorstein Veblen knocking at the
gates of Cornell, announcing his
presence and then getting in, the
allowance comes forth from the
affront first presented.
