BLEEDING TEETH
Like bleeding a tooth,
with a magic hammer,
God all things hurt.
I have a Kol Nidre
semblance of a music
a'float inside my head.
Better to just say hineini.

Different meanings are
always obscure the more
we dig with the shovel
that melts at each new,
turned-over find. Even
emptiness inhabits us
only by pure force; and
for men to prove it,
grappling with a cosmic
absence is entirely
permissible.
