11,152. I'VE ALWAYS LIKED RAIN

I'VE ALWAYS LIKED RAIN
There's a hold put on things,
it seems  - and the grand and
shiny reflections of lights on
car hoods and streets. A different
world from another shiny place.
Have you ever noticed how the
biggest mouths often bring the
biggest silences too, when they
cease their braying in fear? How
bricks hold the water, and stay
dark with the moisture yet held
within? Just last week, in the rain,
I met a lady who was  bragging to
me of how, once, she'd managed
a Roy Rogers franchise. Now
that was a switch, rain or shine.
