5859. DOGGIE PADDLE

DOGGIE PADDLE
I take my dog swimming nearly every Summer day
in the Raritan River, a small throw of water, running
to center, and vital in its way. She appears, as much
as do I, to enjoy it. It's great. As a kid, I often would
'doggie paddle' in someone's pool or my own. For
fun. The joy of something, always present but not
understood, in a human way spoke to me. But I
never really knew the beauty of a 'doggie paddle'
until I saw my doggie paddle.
