Here's to the hand that touched
the hand...you know that tale
of interconnectedness, wherein
each person is supposed to feel
just right. The guy is ironing his
Spanish slacks, and his girlfriend,
the lady in white, watches. And
outside the Italian-American club
that short funny fellow still hawks
his table of detergents and polish.
No one ever stops, even when the
corner light there is red. But what
can you do about that? His
overhead is really light.

I wonder if they ever say that about
angels - you know, halos and all.
'Over his head is really light.' It's
not quite the same, of course, but
there's got to be a difference too.
