4472. I WILL BE BAD

I WILL BE BAD
This is the black marrow of night  -  something
wild and dreamy, out of control and unstoppable
as well. I can no longer speak. Thus mute, my
face can only show the marks of approbation or
agreement; neither of them ever being quite right.
The candle-flame at the end of this taper beguiles;
the light can flounce the now all-resounding night.
-
I will be Mortimer, the snake, the evil one, the
unconditional monster for others to see. Now,
behold me for what I am : behold me thus,
for tomorrow I will be bad again.
