SO NOW WE HAVE A

Yes, yes, yes, you must know by now that
trees grow downward as much as they grow
'up.' So what you see IS NOT always what
you get. Exactly. Or in a manner of speaking.
Give or take...stuff like that; the imprecise and
inconsequential way of speaking that says in
the end not much of anything at all.

Even the genial undertaker, ever at the ready
to bring you down, take you under, end your
days quite readily, even he doesn't always
wear black. In fact, I have seen undertakers
bowling, and playing golf, in blue pants.

It's outlandish, truly; like seeing your second
grade teacher in the fruit and produce aisle
at Daugherty's Safe-Save and determining for
sure, before you greet her, that she'd even
still remember you. A sad moment, yes, for
all of Humankind, if that recognition becomes
not forthcoming, or the teacher dawdles while,
perhaps, groping for your name in the canyons
of her mind.
