LITERALISM
At times I have watched others
take things too much to heart, in
literal ways - defaming by that
the thing they claimed to be
following. As if they were, in
turn, eating the menu and not
the meal. Who cares how things
get done? Just get it done, no
matter the how.

That view needs a longer
horizon than do following
rules and running by dictate.
It remains a very simple matter:
Live your live well, and quietly.

So many ways bring us different
passages. We can waver or avoid,
try to deter, or deny. But it all comes
down to much more than sentiment
in the end. One must 'know' the
way to go, and that only can be
felt, not 'followed.' Do one thing,
and do it right and steady.
