THE DRUDGE
From miles high off a clear-blue
sky, the intended message was
being delivered : cars went by
on Mulberry Street. A few kids
were out. There was a college
nearby. So many hills in this
one small town, what got
confused were the ups and
the downs.

A skateboard kid had his leg
wrapped in bandages; white
gauze and some plastic type
cast. He was sitting outside
the convenience store with
a sour face for sure. There is
no joy in Mudville, mighty
