HAVE THE ADVANTAGE
Somehow that was the title of the
night's performance; some sort
of comedy gag stage show; a
fundraiser for homeless kids or
some deal like that. This guy
walks out, first entry, and starts
this big spiel, he says, about some
military barber with a real funny
streak. Hair jokes, basically.
'Custer's last strand.' But, I
thought to myself, Custer was
never bald, had a grand head of
famous red hair, in fact. Curly,
as well. I thought it would have
been funnier, maybe, as an
ice cream joke about the last
boardwalk vendor - Custard's
Last Stand.
