USED TO BE
I used to be a mendicant,
but now I'm running free.
And, though I still do know
a few, it's nothing now to
me. I can come and go at
will, without asking for
source or solace : Tangiers
or Jamaica, no difference
and no promise either. To
the man who offered me a
sandwich outside the sandwich
shop, I'll say 'you're a truly
gracious fellow, and never
let it stop. Someday for real
the need will arise, and you'll
be there already with your
history as prize. My sir, it's a
personally wonderful thing.'
