10,619. BAUXITE

BAUXITE
Down the breeze, where they
are loading the men, I have
learned a few things. Much.
Worth. The. Mettle. Bauxite
is a clay rock that is refined
to produce aluminum hydroxide.
Which. Is. Then. Smelted. To
produce primary aluminum.
-
I never knew there were two kinds
of aluminum. Primary aluminum
is this kind, smelted from Bauxite.
Secondary aluminum comes from
recycled scrap. Aha! There's the
difference! All. Those. Lines.
Of. Trucks. Men at the recylcing
plants around here don't want to
hear your name with that secndary
stuff. They'll. Throw. You. Out.
On. Your. Tin-Horn. Ear. 'We
don't want none of that stuff
and we don't want it here.'
-
Down in Sault Ste. Louis, or
some place like that, they grow
those central strains of swaying
wheat, and right in the middle of
town. Next to Rentsinger's Hardware
and the Dept. Store of Old Clothing.
A few mongrel dogs sit there, around
the band-shell in the center of the park.
