SOMETIME SATURDAY SLATHER
In the jungles of the Firth of Forth
the Loch Ness Monster wanders.

If that doesn't sound like a mere
exercise of words over running
waters of letters, nothing does.

In the Carnival of the Animals,
Camille Saint Saens did a good
job, but sometimes if it's the
version with all the narration,
I'd rather just the music.

The idea was to personify each
of the named animals by the
idea of 'sound' - which was
meant to somehow capture
their qualities.

OK, but can a lion
roar like a cat?
